INGREDIENTS

  • 1 quart Plain low-fat yogurt
  • 1 to 2 pieces of Pita bread
  • Olive oil
  • Sea salt
  • Dried mint or oregano

 

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. The night before, set a colander lined with cheesecloth over a bowl, and pour in the quart of yogurt. Refrigerate overnight.
  2. The next morning, your colander will be filled with a mound of creamy, thick Middle Eastern spread called labneh.
  3. Spread a spoonful of labneh on pita bread.
  4. Sprinkle a few drops of olive oil on top of the labneh.
  5. Add a pinch of sea salt.
  6. Sprinkle some dried mint or oregano on top if you like.
  7. Enjoy your delicious and healthy Middle Eastern snack!
