Raw Vegan Chocolate Walnut Truffles

I am a self-taught cook. I started cooking around 18 years old. I stood in the kitchen and watched my mother, who was my biggest inspiration at the time, cook.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup ground walnuts
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup raw honey
  • 2 tbsp. chia seeds
  • 2 tbsp. cacao powder

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground walnuts, cinnamon, coconut oil, raw honey, chia seeds, and cacao powder.
  2. Stir the mixture thoroughly until all the ingredients are well incorporated and form a cohesive mixture.
  3. Take a small portion of the mixture and roll it between your palms to form small truffle-sized balls. Continue until all the mixture is used up.
  4. If desired, you can coat the truffles with additional flavorings. Roll the truffles in cinnamon, coconut flakes, or chopped almonds to add texture and taste.
  5. Place the coated truffles on a tray or plate lined with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  6. Once all the truffles are formed and coated, place the tray in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to allow the truffles to firm up.
  7. After chilling, the truffles are ready to be enjoyed! Serve them as a delicious and nutrient-rich treat.

    • Add the zest of one orange to the mixture for a citrusy flavor.
