My girlfriend Tonya always though that this was a terribly complicated dish because it’s elegant and delicious. As if! It’s child’s play.
Yield: 4 servings, each with 12 grams of carbohydrates and 4 grams of fiber, for a total of 8 grams of usable carbs and 6 grams of protein.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 bag (1 pound) frozen French-cut green beans
- 1/2 cup slivered almonds
- 4 tablespoons butter
INSTRUCTIONS
- Steam or microwave the green beans according to the package directions.
- While the beans are cooking, saute the slivered almonds in the butter over medium heat, stirring frequently, until golden.
- When the beans are done, drain the water off of the beans.
- Pour the almonds and butter over the green beans, making sure to use a scraper to get all the butter.
- Toss the green beans and almond mixture.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
