INGREDIENTS

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 400g beef mince
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 40g Western Star™ Butter
  • 4 pita bread
  • 200g Perfect Italiano™ Ricotta
  • 100g baby spinach leaves
  • 1 tomato, diced
  • 200g Perfect Italiano™ Perfect Pizza cheese

 

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat. Add olive oil, beef mince, diced onion, crushed garlic, and paprika to the pan. Brown the meat quickly, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks. Once browned, remove the meat mixture from the pan and set it aside.
  2. Brush each pita bread with Western Star™ Butter, ensuring both sides are coated.
  3. Place a buttered pita bread in a frying pan over medium heat. Constantly flip the pita using a spatula for about 1 minute to lightly toast it. This step helps create a crispy texture.
  4. On one half of the pita, spread a generous layer of Perfect Italiano™ Ricotta, creating a creamy base.
  5. Layer baby spinach leaves over the ricotta, followed by the browned beef mince mixture, diced tomato, and a generous sprinkling of Perfect Italiano™ Perfect Pizza cheese.
  6. Gently fold the pita in half, covering the ingredients and forming a semi-circle.
  7. Continue cooking the folded pita for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the bread becomes crispy and golden.
  8. Carefully flip the folded pita and cook the other side for an additional 1-2 minutes to ensure even crispness.
  9. Repeat the process with the remaining pita bread, creating additional folded beef and ricotta pita pizzas.
  10. Once cooked, remove the folded pita from the pan and let it cool slightly before cutting it in half.
  11. Serve the Folded Beef & Ricotta Pita Pizza halves as a delightful and flavorful meal or snack.
