Here are some variations of the ground beef and cabbage stew:

  1. Spicy Mexican Style: Add diced tomatoes with green chilies, chili powder, cumin, and a touch of cayenne pepper for a spicy kick. Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro and a squeeze of lime juice before serving.
  2. Italian Style: Replace the beef stock with beef broth and add Italian seasoning, diced tomatoes, and a splash of red wine. For a comforting twist, stir in some cooked pasta like penne or rotini before serving.
  3. Asian-Inspired: Use ground pork instead of beef and add soy sauce, minced ginger, and garlic to the broth. You can also incorporate sliced bell peppers and snow peas for extra crunch and color.
  4. Vegetarian Option: Swap the ground beef with plant-based ground meat or cooked lentils for a meatless version. Use vegetable stock instead of beef stock and add your favorite vegetables like bell peppers, zucchini, and spinach.
  5. Tex-Mex Style: Add canned black beans and corn kernels to the stew. Season with chili powder, cumin, and smoked paprika. Top with shredded cheese, sour cream, and diced avocado for a Tex-Mex twist.
  6. Mediterranean Twist: Use ground lamb instead of beef and incorporate Mediterranean herbs like oregano, thyme, and rosemary. Add diced eggplant and kalamata olives for a Mediterranean flavor profile.
  7. Low-Carb Option: Skip the tomato paste and use beef bone broth instead of stock. Increase the amount of cabbage and other vegetables to make it more substantial without the use of starches or grains.
  8. Spicy Mexican Style: Add diced tomatoes with green chilies, chili powder, cumin, and a touch of cayenne pepper for a spicy kick. Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro and a squeeze of lime juice before serving.
  9. Italian Style: Replace the beef stock with beef broth and add Italian seasoning, diced tomatoes, and a splash of red wine. For a comforting twist, stir in some cooked pasta like penne or rotini before serving.
  10. Asian-Inspired: Use ground pork instead of beef and add soy sauce, minced ginger, and garlic to the broth. You can also incorporate sliced bell peppers and snow peas for extra crunch and color.
  11. Vegetarian Option: Swap the ground beef with plant-based ground meat or cooked lentils for a meatless version. Use vegetable stock instead of beef stock and add your favorite vegetables like bell peppers, zucchini, and spinach.
