Broiled Cod

About

Brenda Gantt

I am a self-taught cook. I started cooking around 18 years old. I stood in the kitchen and watched my mother, who was my biggest inspiration at the time, cook.

This is the easiest and tastiest fish you’ll serve. Even finicky eaters who think they don’t like fish will love it because it lacks a fishy taste and is beautiful and flaky.

Broiled Cod is a delicious and healthy dish that showcases the natural flavors of fresh cod fillets. With a simple marinade and quick cooking method, this recipe is perfect for a quick and satisfying meal. Cod, a versatile white fish, offers a delicate and mild taste that pairs well with a variety of seasonings.

SERVING SUGGESTIONS:

  • Fresh and Light: Serve the broiled cod alongside a refreshing salad or steamed vegetables for a light and wholesome meal. The flaky texture of the fish pairs well with crisp greens and a squeeze of lemon juice. Add a side of quinoa or roasted potatoes for a complete and nutritious plate.
  • Mediterranean Delight: Embrace the flavors of the Mediterranean by serving the broiled cod with a side of couscous or bulgur salad. Enhance the dish with chopped tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, and a drizzle of olive oil. Sprinkle some crumbled feta cheese on top for an extra tangy kick.
  • Tacos or Wraps: Use the broiled cod as a delicious filling for fish tacos or wraps. Fill warm tortillas with the cooked fish, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and a dollop of creamy avocado sauce or salsa. These handheld delights are perfect for casual gatherings or a fun family meal.
  • Seafood Platter: Create an impressive seafood platter by serving the broiled cod alongside other seafood favorites such as grilled shrimp, scallops, or clams. Add a side of cocktail sauce, tartar sauce, or aioli for dipping. This platter is a great option for entertaining guests or special occasions.
  • Fish and Chips: Put a healthier spin on the classic fish and chips by using broiled cod instead of deep-fried fish. Serve the flaky cod fillets with a side of oven-baked potato wedges or sweet potato fries. Add a tangy tartar sauce or malt vinegar for that traditional touch.
