- 1¾ cups sugar, divided
- 2 eggs
- ¼ cup thawed orange juice concentrate
- 4 teaspoons aniseed, crushed
- 6 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
INSTRUCTIONS
- In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and 1½ cups of sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in the thawed orange juice concentrate and crushed aniseed.
- In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the creamed butter mixture, mixing well until fully combined.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to a thickness of ¼ inch. Use a floured 2½-inch round cookie cutter to cut out the cookies. Place the cookies 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheets.
