Crisp Fried Tofu

I am a self-taught cook. I started cooking around 18 years old. I stood in the kitchen and watched my mother, who was my biggest inspiration at the time, cook.

Serve this fried tofu with stir-fried vegetables or with the tomato sauce.

SERVES 4

 

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 tbsp. nutritional yeast
  • 3 tbsp. flour
  • 2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. paprika
  • 1 lb. firm or extra-firm tofu, pressed and cut into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil

 

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a small bowl, combine the nutritional yeast, flour, garlic powder, salt, and paprika.
  2. Toss in the tofu and ensure that the cubes are evenly coated.
  3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat, then add the tofu.
  4. Cook, turning from time to time, until the tofu is crisp and golden brown.
