About

Brenda Gantt

I am a self-taught cook. I started cooking around 18 years old. I stood in the kitchen and watched my mother, who was my biggest inspiration at the time, cook.

Serves :8

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 liter tomato sauce
  • 3 1/2 pounds cabbage or sauerkraut leaves
  • 1 cup uncooked brown rice
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 cups beef broth

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Heat the oven to 350F.
  2. Brown the ground beef in coconut oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until cooked through.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped onion, uncooked brown rice, and salt. Add the cooked ground beef to the bowl and mix all the ingredients together.
  4. Take the cabbage or sauerkraut leaves and use them to wrap the meat mixture, creating rolls. Place the rolls in a casserole dish.
  5. Pour the beef broth and tomato sauce over the cabbage rolls in the casserole dish.
  6. Cover the casserole dish with a lid or foil.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour.
