I am a self-taught cook. I started cooking around 18 years old. I stood in the kitchen and watched my mother, who was my biggest inspiration at the time, cook.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 basil leaves
  • Ice
  • ¼ cup carrot juice
  • ½ cup apple juice
  • ½ cup ginger beer

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Muddle the basil leaves in a cocktail shaker.
  2. Juice the lime into the shaker.
  3. Fill the shaker with ice.
  4. Add the carrot juice and apple juice to the shaker.
  5. Cover the shaker and shake the mixture for about 10 seconds.
  6. Fill two glasses with ice.
  7. Divide the shaken mixture evenly between the two glasses.
  8. Add the ginger beer to each glass.
  9. Stir the mixture in each glass slightly to combine the flavors.
  10. Your Basil Carrot Ginger Beer Mocktail is ready to enjoy!

 

VARIATION:

Citrus Twist: Replace the lime with lemon and add a splash of orange juice for a tangy citrus twist.

Minty Fresh: Swap the basil with fresh mint leaves and use mint-infused sparkling water for a refreshing minty flavor.

 Tropical Bliss: Replace the basil with a few cilantro leaves and use coconut water instead of sparkling water for a tropical vibe.

Berry Burst: Replace the basil with a couple of fresh mint leaves and use mixed berry juice (such as blueberry, raspberry, or strawberry) for a burst of berry goodness.

Peachy Paradise: Replace the basil with a small slice of ripe peach and use peach nectar instead of pineapple juice for a sweet and fruity twist.

 Cucumber Cool Down: Substitute the basil with a few slices of cucumber and use cucumber-flavored sparkling water for a refreshing and cooling effect.

 Spicy Ginger Kick: Add a small pinch of cayenne pepper to the mix for a spicy kick. This variation pairs well with ginger-flavored sparkling water.

 Herbal Infusion: Experiment with different herbs like rosemary, thyme, or lavender to infuse unique herbal flavors into your mocktail.

Exotic Blend: Combine a variety of tropical fruit juices such as mango, passion fruit, and guava, along with a touch of coconut water, for an exotic and vibrant mocktail.

 Berry-Basil Fusion: Use a combination of berries like strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries along with basil for a delightful fusion of flavors.

 Green Goodness: Replace the basil with a handful of spinach or kale leaves for a nutritious green twist. Use a mix of green juices like cucumber, kiwi, and green apple.

 Floral Elegance: Add a splash of rose water or orange blossom water to the mix for a subtle floral aroma and taste.

 Tangy Citrus Medley: Blend together a mix of citrus juices such as orange, grapefruit, and tangerine for a tangy and refreshing mocktail.

 Coconut Delight: Combine coconut water, pineapple juice, and a hint of lime for a tropical and hydrating mocktail.

 Minty Melon Splash: Replace the basil with a few fresh mint leaves and use watermelon and cantaloupe juices for a refreshing and summery mocktail.

Lavender Lemonade: Infuse the mocktail with a subtle lavender flavor by adding a drop or two of lavender extract or a pinch of dried lavender flowers.

 Tropical Sunrise: Combine pineapple, orange, and mango juices for a vibrant and tropical twist on the mocktail.

 Raspberry Lemonade Spritzer: Blend raspberry and lemon juices and top off with lemon-lime soda for a bubbly and fruity mocktail.

 Passionfruit Peach Delight: Combine passionfruit and peach juices for a tropical and fruity mocktail that’s bursting with flavor.
