INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 Bananas (sliced and frozen)
  • 1 cup Frozen Strawberries

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Add the frozen bananas and strawberries to a food processor.
  2. Blend the fruits together until smooth, occasionally scraping down the sides of the food processor. This may take approximately 3 to 5 minutes, depending on your food processor’s power and the consistency of the frozen fruits.
  3. Once the mixture becomes smooth and creamy, it’s ready to be enjoyed immediately as soft-serve ice cream.
  4. For a firmer ice cream texture, transfer the mixture to an airtight, freezer-safe container and freeze it for at least 1 hour before scooping.

 

Notes:

  • More Creamy: If you desire a creamier texture, you can add 2 tablespoons of coconut milk to the food processor along with the frozen bananas and strawberries before blending.
  • More Scoopable: To prevent the ice cream from becoming too hard in the freezer, you can add 1 tablespoon of vodka to the mixture before freezing. The alcohol content helps keep the ice cream scoopable.
  • Make it Chunky: If you prefer chunky ice cream, set aside about 1/4 cup of the frozen strawberries before blending the rest. Once the mixture is smooth, add the reserved strawberries back into the food processor and pulse until they are roughly chopped, giving the ice cream some delicious fruit chunks.

Here are some variations of the strawberry banana ice cream recipe:

  1. Chocolate Strawberry Banana Ice Cream: Add 1-2 tablespoons of cocoa powder or melted dark chocolate to the food processor along with the frozen bananas and strawberries. Blend until smooth and enjoy a delicious chocolate twist to your ice cream.
  2. Mixed Berry Ice Cream: Instead of using only frozen strawberries, mix in a variety of frozen berries such as blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries. This will create a delightful mixed berry ice cream.
  3. Peanut Butter Strawberry Banana Ice Cream: Blend 2 tablespoons of peanut butter with the frozen bananas and strawberries for a creamy and nutty ice cream flavor. Optionally, you can also add some chopped peanuts for extra crunch.
