I am a self-taught cook. I started cooking around 18 years old. I stood in the kitchen and watched my mother, who was my biggest inspiration at the time, cook.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 tablespoons unflavored gelatin
  • ¼ cup pomegranate juice
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 3 drops red food coloring
  • 1 cup water
  • ¾ cup cold raspberry vodka

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. In a medium heat-resistant bowl, combine the unflavored gelatin, pomegranate juice, sugar, and red food coloring.
  2. In a small pan, bring the water to a boil. Pour the boiling water into the bowl with the gelatin mixture and stir until the gelatin has fully dissolved.
  3. Add the cold raspberry vodka to the mixture and stir well to combine.
  4. Prepare 2.5-ounce syringes for serving. Carefully pour or spoon the gelatin mixture into the syringes.
  5. Place the filled syringes in the refrigerator and let them set for at least 5 hours or until the gelatin is firm.
  6. Before serving, make sure the gelatin shots are fully set. You can test this by gently pressing the top of the gelatin with your finger – it should be firm and not leave an indentation.
  7. Serve the pomegranate and raspberry vodka gelatin shots chilled, either by themselves or as a fun addition to cocktails or desserts. Enjoy responsibly!
