Fruits dipped in Superfoods chocolate

About

Brenda Gantt

I am a self-taught cook. I started cooking around 18 years old. I stood in the kitchen and watched my mother, who was my biggest inspiration at the time, cook.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 apples or 2 bananas or a bowl of strawberries or any fruit that can be dipped in melted chocolate
  • 1/2 cup of melted superfoods chocolate (see earlier recipe)
  • 2 tbsp. chopped nuts (almond, walnut, Brazil nuts) or seeds (hemp, chia, sesame, flax seeds meal)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Cut the apple into wedges or cut the banana into quarters.
  2. Melt the superfoods chocolate following the recipe you prepared earlier.
  3. Chop the nuts or seeds of your choice.
  4. Dip the fruit pieces into the melted chocolate, ensuring they are coated evenly.
  5. Sprinkle the chopped nuts or seeds over the chocolate-coated fruit.
  6. Lay the dipped and garnished fruit on a tray lined with parchment paper.
  7. Transfer the tray to the fridge, allowing the chocolate to harden for a few minutes.
  8. Once the chocolate has set, remove the tray from the fridge and serve your delicious chocolate-covered fruit.

Alternatively:

  1. If you prefer not to use chocolate, you can cover the fruits with almond or sunflower butter instead.
  2. Sprinkle chia or hemp seeds over the butter-covered fruits.
  3. Cut the fruit into bite-sized chunks and serve.

Enjoy your delightful and nutritious chocolate-covered fruits with a variety of flavors and textures!

Here are some variations of the chocolate-covered fruits recipe:

  1. Coconut Lover’s Delight:
    • Use coconut oil instead of superfoods chocolate for dipping the fruit.
    • After dipping the fruit in coconut oil, roll it in shredded coconut for an extra tropical twist.
  2. Nutty Chocolate Bliss:
    • Instead of chopped nuts, use nut butter (e.g., almond butter, peanut butter) to coat the fruit after dipping it in chocolate.
    • Sprinkle crushed nuts or granola over the nut butter for added crunch.
  3. Choco-Berry Medley:
    • Use a mix of different berries, such as strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries, for a colorful assortment of chocolate-covered treats.
    • Drizzle white chocolate or dark chocolate over the berries for an elegant presentation.
  4. Exotic Fruit Fusion:
    • Dip tropical fruits like mango, papaya, or kiwi in the melted superfoods chocolate.
    • Sprinkle toasted coconut or crushed macadamia nuts on top for a taste of the tropics.
  5. Spicy Chocolate Surprise:
    • Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or chili powder to the melted chocolate for a spicy kick.
    • Dip fruits like pineapple, watermelon, or mango for a sweet and spicy combination.
  6. Chocolate-Covered Citrus Zest:
    • Dip orange or mandarin segments in chocolate and let them chill until the chocolate hardens.
    • Garnish with a sprinkle of orange zest or candied citrus peel for a burst of citrus flavor.
  7. Frozen Chocolate Fruit Pops:
    • Insert a popsicle stick into the fruit pieces before dipping them in melted chocolate.
    • Freeze the chocolate-covered fruit pops for a refreshing and healthy frozen treat.
  8. Yogurt-Covered Fruits:
    • Substitute the melted chocolate with Greek yogurt mixed with a bit of honey.
    • Dip the fruit in the yogurt mixture and let it set in the fridge
  9. Sweet and Salty Sensation:
    • Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt or pink Himalayan salt over the melted chocolate.
    • Dip fruits like pineapple, watermelon, or cantaloupe for a delightful sweet and salty contrast.
  10. Chocolate-Covered Pretzel Dippers:
    • Use pretzel sticks instead of fruit for a fun and crunchy twist.
    • Dip the pretzel sticks in melted chocolate and sprinkle with crushed nuts or sprinkles.
