Deviled Eggs

About

Brenda Gantt

I am a self-taught cook. I started cooking around 18 years old. I stood in the kitchen and watched my mother, who was my biggest inspiration at the time, cook.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 6 hard-boiled eggs
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings:
    • Chopped green chilies
    • Sliced black olives
    • Chili powder
    • Cayenne pepper

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Slice the hard-boiled eggs in half lengthwise. Carefully remove the yolks and place them in a separate bowl.
  2. Mash the egg yolks with a fork until they are smooth and crumbly.
  3. Add mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper to the mashed yolks. Mix well until all ingredients are combined and the mixture becomes creamy.
  4. If desired, add chopped green chilies to the yolk mixture for a bit of spiciness.
  5. Fill each egg white half with the yolk mixture, either using a spoon or a piping bag for a more decorative presentation.
  6. Optional: Top each deviled egg with sliced black olives for added flavor and visual appeal.
  7. If you prefer a bit more heat, sprinkle chili powder and cayenne pepper on top of the deviled eggs.
  8. Arrange the deviled eggs on a serving plate and refrigerate until ready to serve.
