I am a self-taught cook. I started cooking around 18 years old. I stood in the kitchen and watched my mother, who was my biggest inspiration at the time, cook.

Chocolate sherbet is a wonderful way to get a chocolate fix without the effort
of making full-on ice cream. Just quickly combine and enjoy!

YIELD: 1 QUART

INGREDIENTS

  •  1¼ cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ¾ cup Dutch-processed cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

 

PREPARATION

1. Combine all ingredients in food processor or blender, and purée
until very smooth.
2. Refrigerate until thoroughly chilled.
3. Add to ice cream maker and follow manufacturer’s instructions for
freezing.
