Nuka Cherry

About

Brenda Gantt

I am a self-taught cook. I started cooking around 18 years old. I stood in the kitchen and watched my mother, who was my biggest inspiration at the time, cook.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 ½ cups water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup pitted fresh cherries, halved

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Combine the water, sugar, and cherries in a medium saucepan and place over medium-high heat. Whisk until the sugar has dissolved and then bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes.
  2. Remove from the heat and strain the mixture into an airtight container. Once cooled, cover and store the Nuka-Cherry syrup in the refrigerator for at least 12 hours and up to 2 weeks.

TO MAKE AN ICE-COLD GLASS OF NUKA-CHERRY:

  1. Combine 1 cup seltzer water, 5 tablespoons Nuke-Cherry syrup, 4 tablespoons Nuka-Cola syrup (refer to the Nuka-Cola Quantum recipe), and ice in a glass.
  2. Stir the mixture together to create an ice-cold and refreshing Nuka-Cherry beverage. Enjoy the sweet and tangy flavor of cherries with a hint of cola-inspired goodness!
