Snickers Cupcakes

About

Brenda Gantt

I am a self-taught cook. I started cooking around 18 years old. I stood in the kitchen and watched my mother, who was my biggest inspiration at the time, cook.

Snickers Cupcakes are a delightful tribute to the iconic Snickers candy bar, combining the rich flavors of chocolate and peanut butter with a luscious caramel drizzle. These cupcakes are a heavenly treat that captures the essence of the beloved candy bar in a delightful and indulgent dessert.

The Snickers candy bar was introduced in 1930 by Mars, Inc. and has since become one of the most popular and recognizable candy bars in the world. Named after the Mars family’s favorite horse, Snickers quickly gained popularity for its perfect blend of flavors, including chocolate, caramel, nougat, and peanuts.

Over time, Snickers has inspired various dessert creations, and the Snickers Cupcake is one such creation that has captured the hearts and taste buds of dessert enthusiasts. By combining the flavors of chocolate and peanut butter in a moist and tender cupcake, and then topping it with a creamy chocolate peanut butter frosting, Snickers Cupcakes offer a delectable tribute to the classic candy bar.

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius) and line cupcake pans with liners.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set this dry mixture aside.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the eggs, sugar, brown sugar, oil, buttermilk (or milk), and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour half of the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and stir. Then add the rest of the dry ingredients and stir again, being careful not to overmix.
  5. Fill the cupcake liners about two-thirds full with the cupcake batter. Bake for 18-22 minutes or until an inserted knife comes out clean. Allow the cupcakes to cool.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Frosting:

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and peanut butter until smooth.
  2. Add the unsweetened cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and 2 tablespoons of milk to the bowl. Slowly add in the powdered sugar until the frosting reaches a thick and creamy consistency. If the frosting becomes too thick, add more milk gradually until the desired texture is achieved.

  2. Top each cupcake with chopped or sliced Snickers bars for a decadent touch and drizzle with caramel sauce.
